Ann Dickinson, a Birthright counselor, founded Cradle of Hope, formerly Project Life, in 1973. She saw a need by women who were choosing abortion because of a short-term financial crisis. With a $5,500 inheritance, she helped five women the first year and the need continues to grow steadily. During 2002, $212,140.00 was granted and 959 women were served.
